Fux Sets a Hearing on Brazil’s Betting Ban for November 3. The Licenses Are Already Gone

Supreme Federal Court Justice Luiz Fux scheduled a public hearing on Provisional Measure 1.394, the decree behind Brazil’s betting ban, for Tuesday, November 3, at 10 a.m., in an order he signed on October 26. He issued no decision on the requests to suspend the measure. Fux wrote that the hearing answers requests from the Advocate General’s Office, the plaintiffs and the outside parties admitted to the case as amici curiae. He ordered copies attached to six related constitutional challenges to the measure.
