FFXIV Same-Region Player Matching Starts on Japanese Data Centers

The 7.57 patch is now live in Final Fantasy XIV worldwide and makes a major change to the Japanese version of the MMORPG by allowing same-region player matching for that physical data center following the feature being promised at FFXIV Fan Fest Berlin 2026 . This only applies to Japan for now. It also means people playing in that region now can test out the new Visit Another World Server and see the new cross-world linkshells databases. There’s no word yet on when players in other regions might also get that feature.
