Spain recorded 8,675 reports of identity impersonation linked to online gambling in 2025, a 12% annual increase, according to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs. The government has tied the rise to new payment-ownership checks that took effect on 28 October for state-licensed online operators. Spain’s Ministry of Consumer Affairs said 8,675 identity-impersonation reports were filed through the PACS protocol in 2025. The total represented a 12% increase from the previous year.
