South Dakota Sports Betting Slide Continues In September

PIERRE, S.D. – Deadwood sportsbooks took $1.12 million in bets across August and September , about what they took in September 2025 alone. The South Dakota Department of Revenue’s September report shows handle fell 30.8% to $774,837 across seven casinos, following a 46.6% drop to $346,549 in August. The report covers only Deadwood , as South Dakota sports betting is limited to Deadwood and tribal casinos with no statewide mobile app. Through nine months, the state has taken $6.56 million in bets, down 11.3% from last year.
