Dawn Butler Takes Gambling Reform Role

Dawn Butler has been elected Vice Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Gambling Reform, adding a prominent high-street gambling reform campaigner to the cross-party group’s leadership. The appointment comes as the group presses for stronger protections against gambling harm and the UK government prepares changes intended to give councils greater control over betting shops and adult gaming centres. The Gambling Reform APPG announced the result on 21 October and described Butler as a leading campaigner against gambling harm. UK Parliament identifies her as the Labour MP for Brent East, a seat she has represented since 2015.
