BOS Seeks Risk-Based Swedish Gambling Oversight

The Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling has urged Spelinspektionen to adopt a more risk-based and system-oriented supervision model after commissioning a comparison with three other Swedish authorities. The proposal comes from an industry report and has not been adopted or scheduled for implementation by the regulator. BOS published the report Under Scrutiny on 27 October after commissioning Maria McDonald of Nordic Legal to examine Swedish regulatory practices. The analysis compares Spelinspektionen with the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, Stockholm County Administrative Board and Swedish Schools Inspectorate.
