South of Midnight's former director says, were he making the call, he would not have funded the game he directed—believing that it was only a matter of time until "Rome burns." South of Midnight director David Sears says in an interview with MinnMax that he would not have funded the game if he were in charge at Xbox. While thankful for the opportunity, Sears believed that there was a time limit until Microsoft "turned off the tap" and cut funding on the project.
