Borderlands Hits 100 Million Sales, Delivering on Randy Pitchford’s Promise

In August 2025, I sat down with Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox, to discuss the imminent arrival of Borderlands 4. The ambitious open-world shooter was about to hit the market, and when I asked Pitchford about his expectations for the game, he made a bold promise . He said that Borderlands 4 would take the series beyond 100 million sales. It was just announced that Borderlands has passed 100 million lifetime sales.
