What Is Hello! Pikmin? Nintendo’s New Animated Shorts

During the Pikmin Day Direct stream, Shigeru Miyamoto debuted the first “Hello! Pikmin” animated short. Hello! Pikmin follows Nintendo Pictures’ “Close to You” short from October 2025. That short also featured Pikmin. The first short featured a Red Pikmin trying to lift a baseball while avoiding a frog that wanted to swallow it whole. The clip was under a minute and ended with the Frog thinking it had caught the Pikmin, but the Red Pikmin escaped by hiding behind the baseball. This was the first of the Hello! Pikmin shorts to be made available.
