The Physical Revolution on Jailbroken PS5s Now Has People Emulating PS3 Discs

Roughly three days ago, coder Swordpdf unveiled PS5SX2: a vibecoded port of the PCSX2 emulator, which allows users to emulate PS2 games on jailbroken PS5s by using physical PlayStation 2 discs . Today, they’ve unveiled RPS5S3, which allows jailbroken PS5s to do exactly the same thing with physical PS3 discs. Swordpdf showed off the RPS5S3 emulator earlier this morning in a post on X . As you can quite clearly see in the video featured in their post, Swordpdf boots up Gran Turismo 5 after inserting a physical copy of the PS3 game into their PS5’s disc tray.
