Sonic the Hedgehog is hitting mid-life at full speed with a Dragon Ball-inspired anime short

Sonic the Hedgehog is turning thirty-five, and Sega is honoring the Blue Blur’s mid-life milestone in style with Sonic the Hedgehog: Memories and Beyond , an epic animated short celebrating the franchise’s history and future. Premiering November 12, 2026, the short follows Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, and Rouge as they try to stop Dr. Eggman from upgrading Metal Sonic into the ultimate weapon. This premise might sound like standard Sonic fare at first, but the short’s new teaser makes it clear Sonic and the gang won’t have an easy time.
