Rockstar’s Next Game Won’t Take 8 Years, as GTA 6 Tools Allow Team to “Do Things More Quickly”

It’s no secret that Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming after an agonizingly long gap (13 years after its predecessor and eight years after Red Dead Redemption 2 ). Many have come to expect as much from Rockstar Games, but in Bloomberg’s new story inside the game’s development, the developer told Jason Schreier that the wait for the next game won’t be as long. “The engine, the tools and the team we’ve built during this project will allow us to do things more quickly,” said technical director Phil Hooker.
