MKOI Shock BLG on Day 1 of the LoL Worlds Swiss Stage

The LEC’s Movistar KOI (MKOI) have caused a major upset at the League of Legends World Championship (LoL Worlds) 2026. They defeated the LPL’s Bilibili Gaming (BLG) on Day 1 of the Swiss Stage in a tense 39-minute best-of-one. This battle between the two regions’ second seeds was the first time MKOI won their first match at a Worlds tournament. MKOI now join LCK behemoths Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports in the 1-0 bracket. Despite losing the LPL final, BLG were considered by many to be one of the tournament favourites at LoL Worlds 2026.
