Hololive company reaches settlement with minor over false VTuber privacy claims

Cover Corporation, the company behind Hololive Production, has reached a settlement with a minor who posted false personal information about one of its talents, with the minor’s legal guardian agreeing to cover the damages. In an English-language notice published on October 28, Cover said the individual presented false information about a VTuber as if it were true, violating the talent’s privacy rights. The company said a court recognized the posts as an infringement, after which it used a disclosure request to identify the person behind them.
