Archive of Our Own Could Be Down for Up to 4 Weeks After Going Dark for Emergency Maintenance

Popular fanfiction site Archive of Our Own, commonly known as AO3, went down for maintenance early this morning. Now, the website is claiming it may take up to a month to come back online. At 3:26am ET, AO3_Status acknowledged that the site was down for maintenance. Two hours later, the account claimed maintenance was expected "to take at least 12 hours." Then, at 1:59pm, a new post revealed that service restoration will take around two weeks, but it "could be up to" four, leaving dedicated readers without their favorite fanfic destination for the forseeable future.
