Truck Driver Who Accessed Gambling Site at Wheel Caged for Killing Teen

A British truck driver who logged on to a gambling website while driving has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison for causing a highway crash that killed a 19-year-old woman. Daniel Barlow, 30, was jailed for eight years and four months at Chester Crown Court on Oct. 16 after being convicted of causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The court heard that Barlow had repeatedly used his cell phone while driving his heavy goods vehicle (HGV), before plowing into stationary traffic at 55 mph on England’s M6 motorway.
