Spain pushes further towards centralisation with nationwide deposit limits

On Wednesday , Spain’s consumer regulator announced the introduction of two major digital initiatives aimed at promoting safer online gambling. A national “joint limits” system will impose uniform deposit caps for players across all authorised operators, while a new player portal will provide gamblers with a consolidated view and management tools for their betting activity. Starting in spring 2027, all sanctioned online gambling operators in Spain will implement default deposit limits aggregated at the player level, regardless of the platform used.
