First Women-Only Owned Poker Room to Open in Texas

Two avid poker enthusiasts and proponents of women in poker are set to open the first-ever woman-only owned poker room in Texas . The Den Poker Lounge , founded by Marjorie Bradford and Jamie Kempf, has scheduled its Grand Opening in Rowlett, Texas for Nov. 12. Doors open at 3 p.m. local time in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Texas has some strict anti-gambling laws , but many poker rooms in the state operate legally by using the membership-based model instead of raking pots.
