Mercado Bitcoin Freezes $12.9 Million as Services Stay Suspended

Mercado Bitcoin has frozen $12.9 million in assets connected to a security incident, while its platform and app remain suspended as the exchange works to confirm services can safely resume. The affected assets are valued at about $36.3 million. Mercado Bitcoin said customer assets are protected and balances remain recorded in their respective accounts.
