Incoming House Oversight Chair Says Panel Will Review Trump Family Crypto Transactions

Democrats’ takeover of the U.S. House puts World Liberty Financial, the Trump family’s crypto venture, in line for scrutiny as incoming oversight leaders prepare to examine the family’s business ties. Incoming House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Robert Garcia said the panel would review Trump family crypto transactions, his son’s business dealings and relatives’ board positions or contract work. Garcia said crypto-related businesses had brought Trump more than $1 billion. He answered the election result with “Lawyer up.” World Liberty Financial has drawn Democratic attention because an Emirati royal invested about $500 million in the company last year.
