Ethereum Researchers Propose Post-Quantum PeerDAS and Variable-Size Blobs

An early Ethereum draft would replace KZG authentication and allow variable-size blobs, with testing and consensus approval still ahead. Ethereum researchers have proposed replacing the cryptographic proofs used in PeerDAS with a post-quantum design and allowing blobs to carry different amounts of data, opening a new technical discussion about how Ethereum could verify rollup data in the future. The proposal submitted to Ethereum’s improvement repository on November 1 is an early architectural draft. The pull request remains open and unmerged. It does not set an activation date or establish that Ethereum developers have agreed to adopt the design.
