Crypto-Friendly Republican Andy Barr Wins Kentucky Senate Race

Republican Andy Barr has won Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race , defeating Democrat Charles Booker and securing another potential ally for the cryptocurrency industry in Congress. With 55% vote , Barr will replace longtime Republican Senator Mitch McConnell, who is leaving the Senate after more than four decades representing Kentucky. Barr’s victory follows a campaign in which crypto-backed political groups played a significant role in supporting his political rise. Fairshake and its affiliated political action committees (PACs) reportedly spent more than $7 million backing Barr during the Republican primary, helping him secure the party’s nomination.
