Twelve Ether (ETH) Deposits Enter Tornado Cash 18 Days After CryptoBilis Theft

Twelve deposits totaling 1,200 Ether (ETH) entered Tornado Cash on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 18 days after the CryptoBilis theft. The funds were valued at about $2.78 million. Wallet 0x468b…2a4e sent 600.1 ETH to each of two new wallets, which made 12 deposits of 100 ETH apiece. The deposits occurred between 10:24:59 and 10:27:23 a.m. ET (14:24:59-14:27:23 UTC). The Oct. 9 theft affected people who bought Ledger devices through CryptoBilis, a Southeast Asian distributor. Ledger confirmed Oct. 11 that one victim’s device contained an unauthorized hardware implant.
