Layer 2 Sector Gains 2.90% as Bitcoin and Ether Rise

The Layer 2 sector rose 2.90% over 24 hours on Oct. 14 as Bitcoin and Ether also advanced, with Bitcoin moving above $83,000 and Ether topping $2,500. Optimism (OP) climbed 19.98%, while zkSync (ZK) gained 10.69%. The ssiLayer2 measure, which tracks historical sector performance, rose 3.48%. Bitcoin (BTC) advanced 1.21% and Ether (ETH) rose 1.88%. The artificial intelligence token sector gained 2.57%, including a 35.21% rise for Quack AI (Q). Other reported sector gains included 1.60% for meme tokens, 1.56% for decentralized finance and 1.46% for Layer 1 tokens.
