CoinDCX Says Company Will Cover $15.99 Million Legacy Wallet Loss

CoinDCX will absorb a $15.99 million loss after an investigation tied an Oct. 21 security incident to deposits left in a decommissioned wallet system, the Indian crypto exchange said. CoinDCX said the affected wallet infrastructure had been retired after a security incident on July 19, 2025, but an unknown vulnerability remained. An automated service that normally moved funds from old addresses stopped working for a period, allowing deposits sent to those addresses to accumulate. The exchange put the resulting loss at 15.99 million USDT and said it would absorb the cost.
