Bitcoin Traded Near $80,100 After a Brief Dip Below $80,000

Bitcoin (BTC) traded near $80,100 at 5:54 a.m. ET (9:54 UTC) Oct. 29, down about 1.6% over 24 hours after briefly slipping below $80,000, a level that remained a focus in late-October trading. Bitcoin’s approximate 24-hour range was $79,600 to $81,700. It later traded near the $80,000-$80,150 area across major exchanges. The range covers a 24-hour period, not Thursday alone. Earlier in the trading day, Bitcoin had moved above $81,000 after the Federal Reserve kept interest rates steady. The subsequent pullback coincided with weakness in technology shares. Bitcoin’s price action followed a retreat from mid-October highs near $87,000.
