Bitcoin Rebounds Toward $84,000 as Zcash, NEAR Protocol Slide

Bitcoin (BTC) recovered toward $84,000 after briefly falling to $80,850 early Tuesday, while sharp market swings pushed daily liquidations above $800 million. BTC remained about $500 below $84,000 at press time. Its market capitalization stood at $1.670 trillion, and its market dominance rose to 59.7%. The latest move extended a volatile stretch that began after Bitcoin was rejected near $87,000 during the previous business week. BTC later fell to $83,500 and reached $80,400 last Thursday before recovering over the weekend and trading between $82,000 and $83,000. Bitcoin’s earlier recovery toward $84,000 had already drawn attention to liquidation levels.
