Altcoin Season 2026? Solana, XRP and BNB Face a Fed Test as Bitcoin Dominance Holds Above 60%

Altcoins are struggling to establish a broad recovery as Bitcoin dominance remains above 60% and traders prepare for a key Federal Reserve decision. On October 26, Solana traded near $101, XRP around $1.29 and Cardano near $0.20. BNB was one of the few large-cap altcoins holding slightly positive on the day. The weakness raises a familiar question: is an altcoin season approaching, or is capital still concentrated in Bitcoin and a small group of institutional favourites? The Altcoin Season Index is currently around 52, well below the 75 level generally associated with a broad altcoin season.
