Aerodrome and Velodrome, two prominent decentralized exchange protocols, have announced a merger that will unify their operations under a single token called AERO. The Block reported the deal on October 22, describing a combined platform that will operate across seven blockchain networks rather than remaining confined to separate ecosystems. Velodrome, which originally launched on the Optimism network, and Aerodrome, which built its presence on Coinbase's Base network, have each built loyal user bases within the broader Optimism Superchain ecosystem.
